Who Am I |
I'm an artist, a maker--I love setting my mind and hands to working on anything from drawings to wooden bowls, and gold-leaf (gilt) objects. Another one of my focuses is restoring old frames, glass gilding, cleaning and
preserving paintings and other art objects. |
My History |
I have always loved taking on new projects--a chance to utilize creative problem-solving skills.
I live to work with my hands, create, fix and/or refresh things. My formal art education began with photography, experimenting with alternative process, and even still today, I use a Polaroid camera--taking it with me wherever I travel. I majored in Fine Arts at Elmira College and took classes in a wide variety of subjects and media: bronze casting, ceramics, oil painting, printmaking, and drawing. I found fluency in these areas, and still utilize my skillsets to the best of my ability. I earned my MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston at Tufts University in 2015. Adding to my toolbox wood carving, digital media, mould-making, and welding. Currently, I do all the artistic work I can get my hands on and I love every minute of the process. I love collaborating and working with other artists, developing ideas, and bringing things to form. I try to deepen my skillset, whenever I can. I am a proud card-carrying member of the Society of Gilders. |
